Bryant University defeats Mansfield University 5-4 on Sunday

Mansfield, PA - Bryant University field hockey team is heading home after a 1-1 road trip to begin the season. After dropping their season opener to Bloomsburg on Saturday, the Bulldogs come back strong with a 5-4 victory over Mansfield. Bryant will play host to UMass Lowell on Wednesday at 4pm.

The story of today's game was sophomore Caroline Carr (Wrentham, MA). Carr scored all five of the Bulldogs' goals to propel Bryant to a 5-4 victory. Senior Maureen Burns (Derry, NH) assisted the first and fourth goal that was put in the net by Carr. Also adding assists were junior Michaela Dwyer (Buskirk, NY) and sophomore Molly Burt (Hopedale, MA).

The Bulldogs had a solid defensive effort as well from freshman goalie Marie Grant (Weston, MA) who compiled 19 saves.

Bryant will begin Northeast 10 action on Wednesday at 4pm when they will welcome UMass Lowell.
