Bulldogs Improve to 2-2 on Season With 4-1 Win at AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 3, 2005) –
Laynie Sadler (Rehoboth, Mass.) recorded a pair of
goals to lead Bryant University to a 4-1 Northeast-10 field hockey
victory over American International College at Yellow Jackets
Field. With the win, the Bulldogs even their record at 2-2
and 1-1 in league play, while it was the season-opener for the
Yellow Jackets.
Bryant would get on the board with just over 15
minutes to play in the first half when Caroline
Carr (Wrentham, Mass.) scored on a feed from
Michaela Dwyer (Buskirk, N.Y.). The Bulldogs
led 1-0 at the half and doubled their advantage 4:14 into the
second half when Kerry Burke (Reading, Mass.)
scored unassisted. Sadler would then score twice in a span of
just under seven minutes, her second goal at 57:17 giving BU a 4-0
lead.
American International would score with just
over 12 minutes to play on a goal from Kristen
Wright.
Kasey Kortz (Louisville, Ky.)
made three saves en route to the victory for Bryant, while 2004
NE-10 Co-Goalkeeper of the Year Cindy Armand
(Danvers, Mass.) made 11 saves for the Yellow Jackets.
The Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1 NE-10) will host Southern
Connecticut on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
