- The Bryant University Field Hockey team
continued its winning streak, shutting out C.W. Post 2-0 Monday
afternoon at the Bulldog Turf Complex.
Co-captains Michaela Dwyer (Buskirk, N.Y.) and
Laynie Sadler (Rehoboth, Mass.) each tallied a
goal and freshman goaltender Kundayi Mawema (Hare,
Zimbabwe) stopped nine shots in net to earn her third
shutout of the season.
Dwyer got the Bulldogs on the board in the 27th
minute, firing a shot off a corner past Pioneer goaltender Pam
Guernaccini for her fourth of the season.
Sadler scored just 1:49 into the second half taking a
Caroline Carr (Wrentham, Mass.) pass and
blistering a shot thatGuernaccini got a piece of but couldn't stop.
The Bulldogs controlled much of the play in the remainder of the
game and held on for their third straight win.
Bryant (9-7, 7-5 NE-10) will go for its fourth in a row when
they host Southern Connecticut State in a big conference matchup
Wednesday at the Bulldog Turf Complex (4 p.m.).
