Smithfield, R.I.
- The Bryant University Field Hockey team
continued its winning streak Monday night at the Bryant Turf
Complex, defeating St. Anselms 3-2.
Co-captain Laynie Sadler (Rehoboth, Mass.)
scored her second goal of the game with under three minutes to
play, breaking a 2-2 tie to give the Bulldogs the win.
Bryant got started early and often, scoring twice in the game's
first 10:15.
Co-captain Michaela Dwyer (Buskirk, N.Y.)
opened the scoring, taking a pass from Sadler and beating
goaltender Riley Haddock. Two minutes later, Sadler made it 2-0,
burying a rebound into the net. Shana Libman (Attleboro,
Mass.) picked up the assist on Sadler's first tally. Dwyer
assisted on Sadler's game-winning goal.
But the Hawks responded in the second half, as Maddie Cantarow
and Danielle Comer scored eight minutes apart to tie the game.
After being named the Northeast-10 Field Hockey Player of the
Week today, Sadler continued her hot streak, finishing with two
goals and an assist. She has a point on all of Bryant's six goals
during the three game winning streak.
After winning three straight at home, the Bulldogs (6-5, 5-3
