- The Bryant University Women's Soccer team defeated Holy
Family 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.
The victory was Bulldogs Head
Coach Chris Flint's 100th
career victory.
The Bulldogs game-winning goal came by of an own goal in the
86h minute, with Diane Pascale (Plymouth,
Mass.) putting intense pressure on the Tigers defense.
Lauren Childers (Franklin, Mass.) scored her
first goal of the season with less than a minute to the play in the
half, taking the ball out of a scramble in the box and kicking it
past Tigers goaltender Kelly McGrogan to tie the game.
Danielle Malta (Bethel, Conn.), who too the free
kick to begin the play, picked up the assist, her fourth of the
season.
Holy Family scored first as Brianne Redelheim notched her
seventh of the season on a feed from Theresa Cirino.
Katie Mitchell (Deer Park, N.Y.) stopped one
shot in the first half and was relieved by Jessica Clark
(Barnstable, Mass.) in the second half. Clark stopped four
shots, improving her record to 3-0-1.
Bryant outshot the Tigers 15-8 but McGrogran was sharp, stopping
11 shots.
The Bulldogs (10-6-1, 6-4-1 NE-10) will visit host St. Anselms
Wednesday (3 p.m.) at Bulldog stadium.
