WOMEN'S LACROSSE DEFEATS SAINT MICHAEL'S
14-10 SATURDAY
COLCHESTER, Vt. - Juniors Shaun Leddy (Sea Girt,
NJ), Lauren Carlisle (San Diego, Calif.)
and Amanda Gallant (Andover, MA) eached scored
three goals as the Bryant University women's lacrosse team defeated
Saint Michael's College 14-10 Saturday afternoon.
Bryant wraps up the 2006 regular season with a
record of 10-4 overall and have locked up the No. 3 seed of the
upcoming Northeast-10 Conference tournament. The Bulldogs
will host a first round contest this Wednesday at the Bryant Turf
Field starting at 4 pm. The winner will advance to the site
of the highest remaining seed for the semifinals and
championship. Stonehill is the top seed of the tourney.
On Saturday, freshman Delia Glover (Marston
Mills, Mass./Barnstable) scored the contest's first goal
at the 3:53 mark of the first half. Bryant never trailed in
the contest and led 3-0 before back to back goals by Saint
Michael's cut the lead down to 3-2 midway through the first half.
The Bulldogs would respond with three straight
goals to push the lead back to 6-2 as the Bulldogs led at the half,
10-6.
In the second half, Leddy tallied what would prove to be the game
winner just 57 seconds into the half and added an insurance
goal just over four minutes later to complete the
hat-trick.
