Women's Soccer Scores Four Unanswered Goals in 5-3

PHILADELPHIA, PA. - The Bryant
women's soccer team scored four unanswered goals in the second
half, including three in the span of six minutes, as the visiting
Bulldogs came from behind to defeat Holy Family 5-3 Tuesday
afternoon at Tiger Field.
Trailing 3-1 in the 50th minute, sophomore
Alex Dipippo (Shelton, CT) scored two goals 1:28
apart to tie the game.
Five minutes later, senior tri-captain Tricia Spada
(Dedham, MA) put the Bulldogs ahead with the game-winning
tally on a penalty kick and gave them insurance when she posted her
second of the match in the 86th minute.
Sophomore Holly Tyser (Somers, CT), who
assisted on Spada's second tally, scored Bryant's first goal,
unassisted at 10:55 to tie the game at one.
Holy Family took an early 1-0 lead just seven minutes in as Kelly
Spross scored unassisted. After Tyser evened the score, Ashley
Antczak scored on a header off of a Jennifer James assist for a 2-1
lead. James would assist on the next goal, another header this time
from Kelsey Marvill at 23:15 for a 3-1 Tiger lead.
Bulldog goaltender Jessica Neales (Swansea, MA)
made two saves as she faced eight shots.
Bryant fired 28 shots on goal, forcing Kelly McGrogan to make 11
saves. Spada and freshman Sarah Donovan (Storrs,
CT) fired five shots each.
The Bulldogs (2-0) will take part in the Nike Kick-Off Classic
this weekend at Assumption College. They will take on C.W. Post
Friday at 4 p.m. and Georgian Court Sunday at noon.
