Bulldogs fall at Saint Francis U. Sunday

Box Score

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's soccer team fell to Saint Francis U., 5-0, Sunday afternoon in Loretto, Pa.

The Bulldogs had their hands full with three-time Northeast Conference Player of the Year and the NCAA Division I active leading scorer Tesa McKibben who put up a monster effort notching a pair of goals and adding two assists as the Red Flash improve to 3-0 in conference.

Saint Francis was able to break the scoreless tie in the 40th minute when McKibben crossed a pass to Barbara Maros de Carvalho who tapped in her first of the afternoon to head into the break with a 1-0 advantage.

Out of halftime, the Red Flash wasted little time increasing their lead with two more markers in the 54th minute and 66th minute, before closing out the match with a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes of play.

Senior Lauren Viverito (Dayton, N.J.) stopped eight chances in her sixth start of the year while Saint Francis U. keeper Abbey Collins saved all four Bryant shots-on-goal.

Bryant's first loss of league play leaves them with four points overall as they continue their quest to be one of the top four teams come November. The Black and Gold wrap up their road trip at Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday before returning to Smithfield for their next two matches.
