Bulldogs are held scoreless in the loss to Kent State

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's soccer team fell to Kent State, 6-0, on Sunday afternoon to end its two-game road trip in Ohio.

The Golden Flashes (1-1) were able to find the back of the net six times while holding the Bulldogs (0-2) scoreless for 90 minutes.

 Kent State got on the board quickly after Jenna Hellstrom scored unassisted in the first minute of play. Brittany Maisano helped the hosts increase its edge to give them a 2-0 lead at the close of the first half. Hellstrom tallied her second score in the 55th minute, coming just 13 seconds after a Kent State goal by Kristen Brots.  Karli Paracca and Doni Capehart contributed to the Golden Flashes attack, each finding the back of the net to secure the 6-0 Kent State win.

Senior Kaylan Conrad (Avon, Conn.) saw the majority of the time in net logging five saves while sophomore Rachel Brightman (Rochester, N.Y.) recorded one.

The Bulldogs were able to fire off nine total shots on frame. Sophomore midfielder Hannah Crofut (East Amherst, N.Y.) tallied three shots on goal, while freshman Alex Ralph (Peterborough, Ont.) recorded a pair.

Next, Bryant returns to Rhode Island to face off against Providence College on Thursday, August 27 at 7 p.m.
