Volleyball travels to UAlbany on Friday

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will hit the road this weekend and travel to take on the Great Danes at UAlbany. First serve is set for 6:00 pm.

Bulldog Notes and Notables
  • The Bulldogs enter this weekend in a three way tie for first place in the America East Conference with UMBC and New Hampshire. 
  • Brookelyn Talmadge was named America East Defensive Specialist of the Week on Tuesday. Last weekend, Talmadge posted 15 total blocks (1.5/set) in 2-0 week for the Bulldogs; including a career high 11 against UMBC.
  • Aubrey LaPour joined the 1,000 point club following the Bulldogs five set win over UMBC last week. So far this season she has posted 279 kills (2nd in AE) and 54 blocks (T-2nd on team).
  • Ariana Ugolini leads the America East in service aces per set (0.49) and is second in total aces with 34 (1. Tsvetelina Ilieva: 35).
  • Carrina Barron leads the America East in digs with 315 (3.89/s).
Scouting the Great Danes
  • UAlbany enters this weekend at 7-11 on the year and 1-3 in conference play. They enter Friday's match riding a two game win streak following a sweep of NJIT and a four set win over Siena.
  • Maria Olga Siapani earned two weekly honors from the America East; being named both Setter of the Week and Rookie of the Week. Last week she would average a league best 11.3 assists per set as well as 4.0 digs per set. Siapani also leads the team in digs this season with 189.
  • The Great Danes offense is led by Shynelle Woroniuk. She is currently 3rd overall in the conference for kills with 257 and is averaging (3.57/s).
  • Gabriella Karman is the Danes leading blocker with 52 total rejections (0.91/s)
  • The head coach of UAlbany is Josh Pickard. He is in his sixth season at the helm.
