Box Score ORONO, Maine – Maine used a five-run sixth inning to earn a 7-5 victory over the Bryant baseball team on Sunday afternoon at Mahaney Diamond.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 31-17 overall and 16-5 in America East play. Bryant had claimed the series with victories in each of the first two games of the series. Bryant has now won six of its seven America East series this season. The Bulldogs also claimed the America East Regular Season title outright due to UMBC's loss to Binghamton on Sunday.
Carmine Petosa went 2-for-5 on the afternoon, setting the program record by reaching safely in his 51st-straight game. He breaks the previous record of 50 that was held by Robby Rinn since 2016. Chris Einemann added three hits and Zac Zyons, Matt Smith and Justin Hackett all had a pair of hits.
Bryant used six pitchers in the game, with Liam LeVangie throwing 3.0 innings of two-run ball to start. Sean Zaslaw and Bradley Lewis both notched scoreless outings, while Jack Pletter tossed the final 1.2 innings of one-run relief.
