Bryant Women's Swimming and Diving America East Championship Overview

LEXINGTON, VA – The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team showcased strong performances throughout the America East Championships, capturing key victories and podium finishes over multiple days. Standout performances from Amanda Witkus, Elayna Pistrin, and Ruby Tonelli-Smith, brought the Bulldogs much success over the four-day competition.

Witkus, Tonelli-Smith, and Pistrin all respectively secured golds for the Bulldogs, in the 400 IM, 100 Fly, and 200 Breast to close out their swim season.

Notes and Notables:

On Wednesday the women's 200-yard medley relay team (Clara Steen, Elayna Pistrin, Ruby Tonelli-Smith, and Marcella Figueroa) captured first place to kick off the championships.
Molly Gordon placed seventh in the 3-meter diving finals.
On Thursday, Makayla Pearce led the women's 500-yard freestyle with a fourth-place finish (4:56.54).
Amanda Witkus earned second in the 200-yard IM (2:03.08), with teammates Elayna Pistrin (5th, 2:04.68), Alice Stenbeck (7th, 2:05.91), and Ruby Tonelli-Smith (9th, 2:04.82) also in the top 10.
Marcella Figueroa finished eighth in the 50-yard freestyle (23.65),
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay (Marcella Figueroa, Jocie Niemcyzk, Sofia Doersch, and Kaitlyn Archambeault) finished fifth (1:33.55).
On Friday, Ruby Tonelli-Smith claimed first in the 100-yard butterfly (53.88).
Amanda Witkus dominated the 400-yard individual medley with a gold-medal performance (4:21.04).
Elayna Pistrin earned silver in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.81).
Jacqui Fox placed third in the 100-yard backstroke (56.28) with Elise Richardson finishing fourth (56.51).
Megan Beasley took second in the 1-meter diving finals (251.75).
The women's 400-yard medley relay team (Jacqui Fox, Elayna Pistrin, Ruby Tonelli-Smith, and Marcella Fiigueroa) finished third (3:44.10).
On Saturday, Makayla Pearce placed third in the 1650-yard freestyle (17:00.25).
Elayna Pistrin and Alice Stenbeck went one-two in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.80 and 2:16.60), with Pistrin capturing gold.
Amanda Witkus added to her podium campaign by placing third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.58).
Additionally, the women's 800-yard freestyle relay team (Charlee LeGallais, Jocie Niemcyzk, Elayna Pistrin, Marcella Figueroa) took third place, posting a time of 7:25.52.

Some of your Bulldogs will compete at the CSCAA National Invite on March 13 in Florida.
