SMITHFIELD, R.I. –
Gavin Greger drove in four runs and five players finished with multiple hits to lead the Bryant baseball team to a 13-3 midweek victory over regional rival Northeastern on Wednesday afternoon at Conaty Park.
The Bulldogs improve to 6-8-1 overall with the victory. Bryant will host in-state foe Brown in a three-game series this weekend, starting with a single game on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Greger went 2-for-3 with four RBI, while
Brandyn Durand (3-5, 3R),
Pat D'Amico (2-3, 3RBI, 3R),
Zac Zyons (2-2, 4R, 2RBI) and
Matt D'Amato (2-4, 2R) all finished with multiple hits.
Mark Scamardella and
Alex Slotter combined to toss 4.0 scoreless innings to get the Bulldogs off to a strong start.
Brooks Ey closed the game with 1.1 scoreless innings.

- Greger put a crooked number on the board in the first as his three-run double made it 4-0.
How it Happened
- D'Amato opened the game with a double and came around to score on a two-out bloop single from Durand. A hit batter and a walk loaded the bases and Greger unloaded them with a three-run double to right center.
- Greger made it 5-0 in the third as he singled through the right side to score Zyons.
- Gavin Noriega picked up an RBI single and Zyons plated a run with a safety squeeze to make it 7-0 after four.
- The Huskies plated their only three runs in the sixth. All three runs came with two outs.
- Bryant responded with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. D'Amico plated a pair with a double into the left fielder corner, Cam Papetti scored one with a safety squeeze and Drew Wyers doubled home a run to make it 11-3.
- In the seventh, Zyons scored Durand from first with a double into the right field corner. D'Amico then competed the run-rule victory with a single to center.
