Tomsheck leads pack of four Bulldogs with hat tricks in Saturday victory over Bucknell

FARMINGDALE, N.Y.- John Tomsheck tallied a career high six points and four players would record hat tricks on Saturday leading the Bryant men's lacrosse team to a 16-14 victory over Bucknell at the 2025 Dalers Lacrosse Classic in Farmingdale, N.Y.

With the win, the Black and Gold improve to 7-4 on the season. Bryant will return home for a Senior Day showdown with Binghamton on Saturday, Apr. 19. Face-off is set for 1:00 p.m.

Bryant had four players record hat tricks in a game for the second time this season. Tomsheck led the group with six points (4g, 2a). Zac Amend was second on the team in scoring, finishing the day with four points (3g, 1a). Patrick Walsh and Dawson Rielly each had three goal games for the Black and Gold.

Reigning America East Defensive Player of the Week Drew Lucas ended his afternoon with three caused turnovers, three ground balls, and two points (1g, 1a). Brian Russell added three assists for Bryant. Jordan Hernando won 14-of-29 draws at the face-off x and scooped nine ground balls. Scott Einarson recorded double-digit saves for the seventh time this season with 10 against the Bison.

  • With 5:14 to play in the fourth quarter, John Tomsheck broke free of his defender with a spin move and scored the go ahead goal, putting the Bulldogs up 15-14.
How it Happened
  • Bryant won the opening face-off and would strike quickly. Dawson Rielly blew past his defender, freeing him up for an uncontested shot at the cage, resulting in a goal 14 seconds into the game.
  • Bucknell's Connor Davis notched three goals in a row, helping spark a 4-0 run for the Bison.
  • Zac Amend broke Bucknell's scoring streak after faking out his defender and bouncing a shot past goalie Luke Renaud at the 6:26 mark of the first quarter.
  • The Bulldogs brought the deficit to one after Brian Russell found Rielly for his second of the day with 4:45 to play in the first.
