SMITHFIELD, R.I. – UMass Lowell jumped out to a 4-0 lead and then hung on for a 4-3 victory over the Bryant baseball team in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader at Conaty Park.
The Bulldogs fall to 18-16-1 overall and 7-5 in America East with their first loss in eight games. Bryant hits the road for the remainder of April, starting Wednesday at Sacred Heart.
In game two on Saturday, the River Hawks took advantage of two Bryant errors to score three times in the second.
Bryant had the tying run on base in the seventh and eighth but was unable to tie the game.
Zac Zyons finished with two hits.

- UML grabbed the lead with three unearned runs in the top of the second. With runners on first and second and no outs, the Bulldogs threw a bunt down the right field line and then misplayed the carom, allowing two runs to score. A ground out plated the third run of the inning.
- The River Hawks made it 4-0 with a two-out rally in the fourth. A single and a stolen base set up a bloop single to center to score the run.
- Bryant got back into the game with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Durand (1B) and Greger (2B) opened the inning, with Matt D'Amato plating the first run with a sac fly. Zyons brought home a run with a single to right and Noriega's fielder's choice made it 4-3.
- The Bulldogs threatened again in the seventh as D'Amico led off with a double and moved to third with one out. A pair of strikeouts stranded him there.

- Luke Delongchamp allowed four runs (one earned) on five hits over 4.0 innings. He walked two and struck out three.
- Jackson Vanesko delivered 5.0 scoreless innings of relief. He scattered four hits, struck out three and threw 37 of his 47 pitches for strikes.
