Key Moments
- Wyers hit a towering three-run home run to left field to give the Bulldogs a 6-2 lead. D'Amico followed with a solo home run to make it 7-2.
How it Happened
- Bryant opened the scoring with two in the bottom of the first. Zac Zyons fouled off three two-strike pitches before drawing a leadoff walk. D'Amico then plated him with a single into right center to make it 1-0. Gavin Greger then attempted a safety squeeze but popped it up. The ball, however, landed in no mans land between third and short for an RBI infield single.
- Binghamton was able to tie the game with a pair of runs in the third. Matt Bolton and Zach Rogacki both beat the shift with singles through the left side with one out. Devan Bade then hammered a single through the shift to bring in the first run. A fielding error on a potential double-play ball tied the game. Delongchamp kept it tied, however, striking out Haskell looking with the bases loaded.
- Bryant was able to break the deadlock with a five-run fifth. Saul opened the inning with a sharp double inside the third base bag and moved to third on a Gaudreau single. Zyons followed with a safety squeeze down the first base line that Binghamton's first baseman fielded and threw late to home as Saul scored. Wyers then hit a towering drive that carried over the left field wall for a three-run home run. D'Amico then went back-to-back as he drove 1-0 pitch to deep left to make it 7-2.
- The Bearcats looked to rally in the next half inning as Freddy Forgione's ground ball to third hit the lip of the turf patch and hopped over D'Amico's head for a double. After a wild pitch, Kent singled up the middle to make it 7-3. Bryant would bring on Toby Scheidt and he induced a 5-4-3 double play before getting a ground ball to short to end the inning.
- Scheidt would go on to allow just an eighth-inning single to Devan Bade to close the door.
