Abdel Talabi and
Paco Fernandez scored five minutes apart in the second half to lift the Bryant University men's soccer team to their first win of the season against the University of Rhode Island, a fellow Ocean State program.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 1-0-1 on the season. Bryant continues it's season opening three-game homestand on Saturday night when it hosts Lafayette.
After being held scoreless through the first half, Bryant used a pair of set pieces to grab the lead. Talabi took advantage first off a corner kick put in the perfect spot by
Jaime Amaro. Five minutes later,
Paco Fernandez curled a free kick into the back of the net.
