SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant field hockey team fell to Dartmouth, 2-1, on Friday afternoon at Cowen Field.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 2-1 on the season. Bryant wraps up its season-opening four-game homestand on Sunday when it hosts Hofstra at 12:00 p.m.
On Friday, Dartmouth built a 2-0 lead and then held off a late Bryant rally to win its season opener.
Maddy DeFilippo scored Bryant's lone goal, bringing the Black and Gold within one with three minutes left.

- Dartmouth extended its lead three minutes into the second half as Luessman knocked home a good pass in the circle.
Fourth Quarter
- Dartmouth was assessed a 10-minute yellow and Bryant pulled its goalie to get an extra advantage in the final five minutes.
- It paid off as DeFilippo received a pass in the middle of the circle and was able to get a shot past the keeper.
