SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant women's bowling team came in at No. 24 in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association poll, announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
This is the second time this season the Bulldogs have been nationally ranked in the NTCA poll. They were ranked No. 20 in the last poll released on December 9.
The Bulldogs have a 37-25 overall record through five tournaments this season. They competed in the Mount Shootout this past weekend and went 9-4, earning a fifth-place finish.
Laura Clark is coming off an impressive performance, finishing fourth overall individually with an average score of 221.00 per game. Her performance earned her a spot on the all-tournament team for the Mount Shootout. Clark is averaging 18.99 per frame in baker format this season.
Three-time ECC bowler of the week
Olivia Hillman has also been stellar for Bryant this season. She is averaging a team-high 21.05 per frame in baker format this season and a 50.1 strike percentage in baker format.
Another major contributor to the Bulldogs success has been two-time ECC rookie of the week
Madison Lewis. She is averaging 18.70 per frame in baker format this season and has a 44.2 strike percentage in baker format.
Bryant competes in their only home tournament of the season on Sunday, hosting the New England Cup at East Providence Lanes. The tournament is slated to begin at 9 AM on Sunday, with the Bulldogs competing against No. 10 Sacred Heart, Merrimack, and Saint Anselm. The Bulldogs will honor their four seniors including Clark, Hillman,
Stephanie Kotropoulos, and
Abby Unson.
