BULLDOGS FALL TO MERCER IN EXTRAS

MACON, GA. – The Bryant University softball team fell to Mercer 8-6 in extra innings on Friday.
 
Bryce Clendenin hit a two-run home run in the loss.

  • The Bears hit an RBI single in the bottom of the first (1-0).
  • Amira Rainer drew a walk in the top of the second, leading to a two-run home run from Bryce Clendenin in the top of the second (2-1).
  • Mercer tallied a solo HR and a bases-loaded walk to take the lead in the bottom of the second (3-2).
  • In the bottom of the fifth, Mercer hit a solo home run (4-2).
  • Jaelynn Lee hit a single, stole second and took third on a throwing error and Jaiden McKenna followed with an RBI single (3-4). Bryce Clendenin then drew a walk, and Gabriella Gesualdo knocked a single, bringing home two, giving Bryant the lead in the top of the sixth (5-4).
  • Down to their final strike in the seventh, the Bears hit an RBI single to tie the game at 5.
  • In the top of the ninth, Clendenin opened the inning with a leadoff single and pinch runner Jadyn Jenks came around to score on a two-out single from Teagan Thompson (6-5).
  • The Bears tied the game at six on another two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth.
