The following is a diary of the Bryant
University softball team trip to the 2005 NCAA
Northeast Region Tournament host by Le Moyne College in
Syracuse, NY. The diary is written
by senior first baseman Holly McCarthy.
Enjoy!!!
Day 1:
We left beautiful Smithfield, RI at 9:30am. Our bus driver
gracefully threw our bats underneath the bus, the team piled on,
and we were on our way to Syracuse, NY! The bus was low key, some
team members sleeping, others watch Dane Cook on DVD, and others
tormented those who were sleeping.
We arrived in Syracuse around 3:00 and went to our scheduled
practice slot. We had a nice crisp practice; some fly balls, ground
balls, and some hitting. Tonight we have a banquet to go to.
Normally, we would be bothered at having to get dressed up for
another banquet, however, if our memory serves us correctly, the
food out here is Syracuse is DELICOUS! So, if nothing else, we will
enjoy a few hours of an all you can eat atmosphere…
Well, back from the banquet…. The food was everything we
thought it would be! It was your typical spring spread: hamburger,
pasta salad, caesar salad, and cake (both chocolate and
vanilla). All of the teams were well represented by their
athletic departments. It was great to be back at the NCAA banquet
for the 2nd year in a row. Well, softball fans,
that's all I got for now! This team is tuckered out and
heading to bed. Big game tomorrow!
