Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. – George Washington broke a 4-4 tie with five runs in the fifth and went on to earn a 12-4 victory over the Bryant University baseball team on Saturday afternoon at Tucker Field.
With the loss, the Bulldogs are now 1-2 on the season. Bryant and GW will meet in a rubber match on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.
After GW scored five times in the fifth, two relievers combine for 4.0 innings of one-hit relief to close it out. The Black and Gold were limited to just five hits on the afternoon.
Gavin Noriega and Shea Grady both homered for Bryant, who took a 3-1 lead after an inning and a half. The home run was Grady's first career long ball.

- Bryant opened the scoring with two runs in the first. Noriega walked and came around to score an RBI double from Justin Hackett. Carmine Petosa plated Hackett with an RBI ground out.

- The Revolutionaries took advantage of a Bryant error to score three times in the second. A sac fly brought home the first run and Steve DiTomaso gave GW a 4-3 lead with a two-run single.
- Noriega quickly tied things up, hitting his fourth home run of the year to dead center in the third.
- It remained tied until GW put up five in the fifth. Two walks and a single loaded the bases, setting up a sac fly to make it 5-4. A double plated the second run and a passed ball made it 7-4. Sam Gates capped the inning with a two-run double.
- Shugy Klein and Benny Wilson would then limit Bryant to four base runners over the final 4.0 innings (1H, 3BB).
