Slaney and Trott named to AE All-Academic Team

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- Bryant University cross country runners Jasmine Trott and Ryan Slaney both were named to the America East All-Academic Team; the league announced Tuesday. This marks the second straight season in which Slaney and Trott have received conference all-academic honors.

Trott earned America East Runner of the Week honors in 2024 and would have outstanding performances throughout the season. At the 2024 America East Cross Country Championships, Trott would take home the silver medal after running 17:15:95 in the women's 5K. She would then earn All-Region honors from the NCAA after finishing inside the top 25 in the women's 6k at the NCAA Northeast Regional with a time of 20:31:45.

Slaney would have a remarkable senior season for the Black and Gold as he too would earn silver at the conference championship; finishing in 23:52.18. Just two weeks later, Slaney would record the best men's finish in program history at the NCAA Northeast Regional, placing 30th with a time of 30:44.27. Slaney would win the 2024 NEICAAA Championship after finishing the 8k in 24:12.61. He would also be recognized as the America East Male Performer of the Week on September 10th following a first place finish in the Nassaney Invitational (15:29.8).
